On 29th and 30th October 2009, a delegation from the National University of Singapore, School of Design and Environment, Dept. of Architecture, visited the research sites of the vulnerability assessment to water-related hazards in Can Tho City. Questions of adaptation options to water-related hazards were discussed and fields for joint efforts explored. It has been agreed to collaborate in one of the case study areas in order to combine the findings of the vulnerability assessment with a design study that focuses on alternative housing and infrastructure design for An Lac Ward, combining aspects of overall urban upgrading with resilient housing types with respect to water-related hazards and climate change.
