GIRS – VAST - GIS and Remote Sensing Research Center - Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology 地理信息系统和遥感研究中心--越南科学技术学院（GIRS-VAST）

GIRS – the GIS and Remote Sensing Research Center has been established under the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Resources Geography – Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) since 20 September 2007.

 地理信息系统和遥感研究中心，在2007年9月20号成立胡志明市地理研究所--越南科学技术学院（VAST）。

This center has been founded based on a joint of the Geo-Information & Remote Sensing Division (GIRS) under the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Physics and the Department of Remote Sensing & GIS under the Sub Institute of Geography in Ho Chi Minh City.

该中心是由胡志明市物理研究所地理信息和遥感部与胡志明市地理研究所遥感和地理信息系统系联合成立的。

GIRS concentrates on basic research in the field of remote sensing, geoinformation systems and data management.The center has the consultative function in national projects on littoral managment, environmental monitoring, management of ressources and provides project-oriented solutions for GIS and databases.

 GIRS集中在遥感、地理信息系统和数据管理这些基础研究领域。该中心在以下几方面有国家项目的咨询功能，如沿海管理、环境监测、资源管理和提供地理信息系统和数据库的项目导向解决方案。
