Nadine Reis receives the 2012 KfW award for best PhD thesis

Nadine Reis was awarded the KfW Prize for practice-relevant development research for her doctoral thesis on "Tracing and Making the State. Policy Practice and Domestic Water Supply in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam". Nadine Reis was a PhD candidate of the first phase of the WISDOM project and wrote her thesis at the Center for Development Research (ZEF).

 

 

The prize ceremony was part of the annual meeting of the Research Committee on Development Economics and Policy of the German Economic Association (VfS) and took place at ZEF on June 22nd, 2012. Joachim Heidebrecht, Vice President of the KfW Department of Development said that Nadine Reis has been awarded the prize for her excellent empirical research and her highly relevant conclusions. The work highly demonstrates besides scientific proficiency also practical relevance as all donor engagements crucially depend on sound monitoring and evaluation systems. The findings of her research will enable KfW to better design their project monitoring system.
