The field campaign of DLR took place between January 7th and January 25th. Five DLR scientists travelled to Vietnam for issues concerning project management, information system technology, remote sensing validation and support of a water sampling campaign. With the project partner and coordinator on the Vietnamese side SIWRR project management issues were discussed. A joint two day Remote Sensing Workshop took place at the Vietnamese project partner GIRS-VAST.
Detailed ideas on the set up of joint processing chains, algorithm design and remote sensing methodology were exchanged. At the partner institute Sub-Niapp questions on landcover and landuse in Vietnam, data standards and possibilities for Capacity Building from German partners in Vietnam were discussed. During a four day trip to the Mekong Delta (My Tho, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Long Xuyen and Cao Lanh) ground control points for remote sensing data rectification were collected and DLR also participated in a water sampling campaign of the company Eomap.
